OUTLAST
CERTIFIED SPACE TECHNOLOGY

Outlast technology, originally developed for NASA, utilizes phase change materials (PCM) that absorb, store and release heat for optimal thermal comfort.  Outlast technology is comparable to ice in a drink; as it changes from solid to liquid, it absorbs heat and cools the drink, keeping that drink at the desired temperature for longer. Outlast phase change materials work in the same way, but are microencapsulated to be permanently enclosed and protected in a polymer shell. We call microencapsulated phase change materials Thermocules. For more information visit www.outlast.com

BAMBOO

Your natural mattress ticking. Bamboo is a hygienic, natural solution that can replace chemicals and is friendly to the environment.
Bamboo is a very special plant, not only because it is the strongest and fastest growing plant on earth but also because of its exceptional natural antibacterial qualities. It develops a natural barrier against bacteria. Bamboo offers a higher moisture absorption than cotton, is amazingly strong, and the yarns weave or knit a very breathable textile.

purotex photo_edited_edited.jpg

Purotex uses the technology of active probiotics. Applied on mattress or pillow textiles, they reduce the amount of house dust mite allergens by 93,7% two weeks after application! In other words, active probiotics create a fresh and clean sleeping environment. Probiotics are also used in yoghurts to guarantee a healthy microflora and in hospitals as cleaning products to prevent resistant bacteria. Purotex also reduces cat & dog allergens!
How does it work:
1. Inactive probiotics are encapsulated and integrated into the textiles.
2. Friction between body and mattress opens the microcapsules.
3. The probiotics absorb humidity and self-activate: they start to clean up allergens

cotton.jpg

ORGANIC COTTON

Sleep in fresh cotton. Organic Cotton is made from 100% organically grown cotton fiber. Cotton fiber is naturally efficient absorbent and eco-friendly.

Organic Cotton is a premium knitted mattress fabric that contains 100% organically cultivated cotton. Instead of traditional pesticides, the farmers use organic fertilizers to grow their crops. This is better for the product, but also better for them.
Due to the increasing demand for pure and honest materials, Mattress Island has introduced organically cultivated cotton as a raw material. The organic cultivation methods by no means detract from the natural qualities of cotton. This cotton is just as soft, strong, and voluminous.

NATURAL WOOL

The coziness of Natural Wool transforms the magic wool fiber from sheepskin to an exquisite mattress fabric that promotes a better night’s sleep. Sweet dreams are made of this.

Wool gives superior performance to man-made fibers and is a naturally occurring fiber, it brings some amazing benefits to the sleeper:

A wool environment breathes in a natural way.
Wool is a natural heat regulator: it feels warm in winter and cools in summer.
Wool is hypoallergenic and resistant to bacteria, mold, and mildew that can trigger allergic reactions.
Wool is a highly resilient, naturally appealing material, 100% biodegradable, and environmentally sustainable.

Wool is a natural flame retarder.

adaptive.jpg

Adaptive keeps you comfortably dry and cool and improves the quality of your sleep. This is important because your body generates warmth and humidity while sleeping. The ability of the bedding to deal with this,  and especially bedding under your body, is essential in order to be able to recuperate while sleeping. Adaptive is a treatment that changes passive textiles into textiles that respond dynamically to temperature changes. As your body heats up the textile, the Adaptive treatment pushes the evaporation gas pedal, so to speak. Extra evaporation reduces humidity and has a cooling effect. As such, Adaptive wicks away moisture, increases evaporation, and helps create a cool and dry sleep environment. What's even better, is that Adaptive has a positive effect on the softness of the fabric!
